Another was the change in packaging when shipping packages containing sample packs. Sending samples of garments sewn in Poland to clients and customers with whom we establish cooperation is a regular practice for us &#8211; it allows them to feel the materials on their own and see the details of MerchUp clothes. Thanks to the change, we used 1,200 fewer foil packs for a year.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"ez-toc-container\" class=\"ez-toc-v2_0_82_2 counter-flat ez-toc-counter ez-toc-grey ez-toc-container-direction\">\n<nav><ul class='ez-toc-list ez-toc-list-level-1 ' ><li class='ez-toc-page-1'><a class=\"ez-toc-link ez-toc-heading-1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.merchup.com\/en\/how-to-reduce-packaging-consumption-when-shipping-packages\/#changing-approach-to-the-use-of-packaging-in-shipments\" >Changing approach to the use of packaging in shipments<\/a><\/li><li class='ez-toc-page-1'><a class=\"ez-toc-link ez-toc-heading-2\" href=\"https:\/\/www.merchup.com\/en\/how-to-reduce-packaging-consumption-when-shipping-packages\/#the-use-of-reusable-packaging-in-shipping-%e2%80%93-repacks\" >The use of reusable packaging in shipping &#8211; RePacks<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/nav><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"changing-approach-to-the-use-of-packaging-in-shipments\"><\/span><strong>Changing approach to the use of packaging in shipments<\/strong> <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwc.pl\/pl\/media\/2021-02-09-analiza-pwc-prognoza-rozwoju-rynku-ecommerce-w-polsce.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">PwC report<\/a> <strong>by 2027, the number of e-consumers in Poland will increase by 3.4 million, and an additional 100,000 vendors will serve in this industry<\/strong>. With such rapid growth in e-commerce, the demand for packaging is increasing. The quantities of boxes or foil packs used for shipping thus become quite an environmental challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the idea of sustainability, the European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers (FEFCO) is supporting packaging projects designed for closed-loop circulation. What does this mean for the packaging industry? The ability to reuse packaging that is already in circulation. <strong>According to FEFCO data, as much as 83% of corrugated packaging across the EU is effectively recy<\/strong> cled (data was indicated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schumacher-packaging.com\/fileadmin\/user_upload\/general\/downloads\/Schumacher_Packaging_Allegro_Raport_Opakowania_ecommerce_2022.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">in the report Packaging in e-commerce<\/a>). As a result, companies that use corrugated cardboard provide packaging based on the concept of the circular economy. This is not only good for the environment, but also supports the goals of the European Green Deal, which seeks to transform the European Union into a climate-neutral area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another solution is a substitute for foil packs, which are often necessary when manufacturers want to ensure that the package is not damaged by rain or other accidents &#8211; this is the case for clothing, where we are concerned about avoiding dirt or damage. Which means we were able to save approx. 1,200 foil packs<\/strong>, which in the traditional way would have been used to ship and return packages of clothing samples. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video aligncenter\"><video height=\"800\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1200 \/ 800;\" width=\"1200\" controls src=\"https:\/\/www.merchup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Projekt-bez-nazwy.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the changing preferences of consumers, who are increasingly willing to choose products packaged with the environment in mind, such solutions are becoming not just an alternative, but a necessity for companies wishing to meet growing customer expectations.
